The 2001 Glorieta Kickoff Conference The 2001 Challenge Kickoff Conference will be held at the Glorieta Conference Center, between Santa Fe and Las Vegas. The dates for the Kickoff Conference are October 21-23. Two sessions are held. Schools that are farther than one hundred miles from Glorieta will attend the first session on October 21 and 22, while the schools within one hundred miles attend the second session on October 22 and 23. For each student/teacher attending Glorieta, room and board will be provided with the submission of a $20 registration fee. (Send to same address as the TEAF.) Teachers: please email consult if you have a student who may need financial assistance. To attend the kickoff conference, you must complete the following steps:
This year we have a very exciting keynote speaker: Dr. Sandra Begay-Campbell, a Civil Engineer from Sandia National Labs. She was raised in the Gallup area and is recent past Executive Director of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society. Another key speaker, Dr. Skateboard, will discuss the physics of skateboarding. From the south, go over the overpass then turn left on the frontage road which leads directly into the Glorieta Conference Center. From the north, jog right then left onto the frontage road which leads directly into the Glorieta Conference Center. |
