About Melany
Melany was born in La Paz, Bolivia, and immigrated to the United States to pursue a better education. She received her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics at Northern New Mexico College, and as she was pursuing her education she started working and developing Computer Science curricula.
Melany has been involved with the New Mexico Computer Science Alliance for several years, where she has offered professional development in Code.org, Scratch, micro:bit, Bootstrap, Python, Everyday AI, and Cyberbot.
She has been aware of the Supercomputing Challenge for many years. Last April she was an Expo judge, participated in the Awards Ceremony, and decided she wanted to be more involved in the program. She brings passion and experience in computer science professional development to the position.
Acerca de Melany
Melany nació en La Paz, Bolivia, y emigró a los Estados Unidos en busca de mejores oportunidades educativas. Obtuvo su licenciatura en Matemáticas en Northern New Mexico College y, mientras continuaba con sus estudios, comenzó a trabajar en el desarrollo de programas y planes de estudio de Ciencias de la Computación.
Durante varios años, Melany ha colaborado con Computer Science Alliance de Nuevo México, donde ha ofrecido capacitaciones y desarrollo profesional para educadores en Code.org, Scratch, micro:bit, Bootstrap, Python, Everyday AI y Cyberbot.
Melany conoce el Supercomputing Challenge desde hace muchos años. El pasado mes de abril participó como jueza en la Expo y asistió a la Ceremonia de Premiación. Esta experiencia despertó en ella el deseo de involucrarse aún más con el programa.
Melany aporta a este puesto su pasión por la educación, así como una amplia experiencia en Ciencias de la Computación y en el desarrollo profesional de educadores. Nos entusiasma darle la bienvenida al equipo.
